Hands down, The most important part of your website is your Event Detail Pages (EDPs) & Schedule. Games are originated by the ECHL & delivered to your website automatically by LeagueStat. By default, Games will be created (and updated) with this data provided by the feed (which is not editable by administrators):
- Home Team
- Away Team
- Date
- Start Time
- Ticket URL
- Venue Name
- Venue Location (City, State)

How to Add Promotions to Games
Your Event Detail Pages (EDPs) are built to serve as your landing page for all of your marketing campaigns related to a game. The ECHL is all about promotions, so these pages will help you highlight your promotions effectively in both the Schedule & on the EDPs.
This is what a customized EDP can look like:

Where to find games in the CMS
Navigate to /admin > Content > Games. All games provided by the LeagueStat feed will be present. You can click the Filter icon (top right of table) to filter by Home Games, Away Games, Past Games, Opponents, Game Date, Game Status (Finished/Scheduled), Season, and Published Status Filter (Published, Scheduled, Unscheduled). By default your browser will show you upcoming Home Games, since that's where most of your work will take place in the CMS.
Click the edit icon next to the game you want to work on. The header of your screen will display the data we received from LeagueStat. If there is an issue with this data you must reach out to the League. This data is one-way & will update as the feed is updated (re-scheduled games will change dates / times / locations / opponents automatically).
Add a Promotional Title
By default the title of games are formatted as Away Team @ Home Team & the URL is formatted as /games/year/month/day/opponent. Add the name of your promotion (ex: Star Wars Night, Winter Hat Giveaway, etc.) to update the title of the game. The URL will automatically update & any traffic to the original URL will be automatically redirected.
Add a Short Description
The short description is intended to be teaser copy to encourage someone to click on the event when looking at the schedule. It will only appear on the schedule page & cards throughout the site, not the Event Detail Page.
Add a Promotion
Promotions are short bullet points that call attention to the main promotion(s) for each game.
You can select an icon from the available list to serve as a bullet point & help break up the content on cards & the schedule.
Edit your Primary Ticketing Link & Add Additional CTA Buttons
Add or edit (if we received a ticketing link from LeagueStat) your primary ticketing link here.
You may add an infinite amount of additional CTA Buttons. These will appear next to the other main CTA buttons on your EDP. Keep in mind that ticket package options will show below the description, so reserve this for high-priority CTAs.
Add Tags & a Sponsor
Tags are internal & not visible to users. Tags may be used on Games to create Event Modules in the future. For instance, If you want to create a module that only shows Family Events, Playoff Games, Weekend Games, Beer Promotions, etc.. Start typing the tag you want to add & select from a dropdown that appears.
You may add a sponsor to the event (to help avoid having to say their name in the title). Start typing the sponsor name & select from a dropdown of available sponsors.
Add a Full Description
Use the WYSIWYG module to add a full description (which will appear between Promotions & Tickets). You can add additional modules as you would on static pages & ticket category pages so that you can provide all the details about the event on one page.
Configure Tickets
The Tickets section of Event Detail Pages will show ticket package cards to provide easy to find information to help users make a quick decision. This is not intended to showcase all ticket packages available (that's what /tickets is for).
Define the Tickets section title:
By default, all Home Games will show the default packages. When you create ticket packages you select whether the package should appear on EDPs by default or not.
If you prefer to select specific ticket packages for the game (if pricing is different, it's a playoff game, or it's just a preference) then deselect the Use Default Tickets button. Select the ticket packages you want to appear on the EDP.
Publish or Schedule a Publish Date/Time
Click the Publish now button or pick a date/time you want the game to be published. Once published, the EDP will be available & will appear in the schedule & all related modules / cards. If you Unpublish an event the EDP will no longer be available & it will be removed from the schedule & all related modules.
Additional Modules
You can define what modules appear below the game information & above the footer on Event Detail Pages. You can use this feature to cross-promote similar games, display recent news, encourage newsletter subscriptions, or promote internal initiatives (like season tickets, renewals, etc.) via a promotion module.
Click on the Additional Modules Tab. The default configuration for all event detail pages is managed in the page configuration section of the CMS. If you are OK with the defaults then leave the Default Modules button checked.
If you prefer to set modules for a specific event you can unselect the Default Modules button.
